-- roughly doubled again;
-- went up ≈ 40% from there;
-- and now have dropped ≈ 80% from the peak -- but are still 3X what they were in February.

The proposed deal sounds like the US exit from the negotiations that Rubio announced last week. The demands are likely not meant to be acceptable to Ukraine and there doesn’t seem to be even a concept of a plan how to implement and enforce the deal.
Independent of the fact that Ukraine cannot and will not accept the United States' (i.e., Russian maximalist) terms for a peace deal, Europe once again looks like the dumbest idiot on the planet. Well done to our decisionmakers. What a clownshow this continent remains.

Looking at what China stands to gain from the US self-sabotage shenanigans, it’s quite impressive: if China plays it smart, they can have Russia, Europe, and their Asian neighbours where they want them.
