The right-wing in America got everything they wanted. The Presidency, The House, The Senate and deporting people by the thousands. And yet they’re still angry and miserable. It’s almost as if all the things they said were the problem, weren’t actually the problem.

@digital-hammurabi.bsky.social are you familiar with the novel Vellum from @halduncan.com? It's a delight, feels as largely relevant in tone now as when I first picked it up in the mid-00s, and is built around engaging depictions of Inanna, Dumuzi, Enki, and Shamash, among others

No, you cannot defeat fascism with "just a little fascism as a treat" exemptions for the straight white boys. If you're arguing against the most basic vetting of "no fascism allowed," you're just another line of attack trying to splinter the front unified in opposition to fascism.
You cannot defeat authoritarianism with purity tests. If you are actively working to splinter a unified front against authoritarianism, you are the problem.

That's @flagsforgood.com, sorry
Do you have a flag provider you prefer? I've been using Flags for Good and they seem to hold up well through NY seasons (I replace them annually for fading).

"Black people are tired. Not metaphorically tired—actually tired. The kind of tired that turns every group chat into a mix of gallows humor and emotional triage."

I write about white ignorance and how exhausting it is to hear white ppl insist "this isn't who we are, when it's ALWAYS who we've been.
White People’s Performative Ignorance Is Exhausting—Opinion
Disbelief over authoritarianism in America isn’t a cutesy personality trait. It’s a confession: You haven’t been paying attention.

People legit yelled at me for 24 hours when I said it's extremely dumb to RSVP to a protest. Why hand your name over to a group organizing a protest/rally? Do you *want* to have to talk to the FBI?

Treat anyone encouraging you to RSVP to a protest as a fed. End of.
Deputy AG Todd Blanche says ‘organized’ Trump protesters could be investigated
Blanche spoke as DOJ sought to walk back Attorney General Pam Bondi’s comments about "hate speech," which landed her in hot water with conservatives.

this man got on national tv and told the president to come say it to his fucking face
Mamdani: Why should I debate Trump's puppet when I could debate Trump himself? If Trump is serious about this, he should come to New York City. We can have as many debates as he wants about why he is cutting snap benefits for hungry New Yorkers just to fund tax cuts for his billionaire donors

"Alligator Auschwitz" is also gross. Why do you need a cutesy name? Why is it funny to you? I think it trivializes the Holocaust and the 1.1 million people who died at Auschwitz. Please just think about it.
Can we nip this "Alligator Alcatraz" shit in the bud? We don't need to adopt their cutesy marketing when talking about the concentration camp in the Florida Everglades
