The term "Luddite" as a pejorative synonym for "technophobe" was a technocrat PR coup; that's not what Luddites were about. They were a labour movement fighting to give workers control over technologies which were advancing w/o oversight and rapidly automating them out of their jobs. Sound familiar?

I don't think it gets said often enough that Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries are in a no-win situation that was caused by wht voters.
They are doing what they can to minimize the damage done by the criminal gop - and every day they are bearing the brunt of the blame for what the gop does.

Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.

All of my fellow white people coming off the high of the no kings protests need to seriously look at who's coming to Thanksgiving and who is not welcome, and need to tell them why. The days of "not taking about politics" or "that's just how uncle Bob is" need to end.
