41/47 (87%) of NIH study sections are cancelled this week

Frustrating to see all this good research stalled (& not funded)

You can search for study sections that ‘did not meet as scheduled’ here with ones with * ⤵️

Out in OFID today. Why just looking at trough alone is not enough for monitoring vancomycin.

Great work from our fellow Dr. Shiau and in collaboration with Drs. Roy and Sabourenkov from DoseMe.

Excited for: @escmid.bsky.social ... I see the countdown. :)

This is also the countdown of ~ how long it takes some in the US to get international travel approval. Any direct guidance on when abstract disposition will be available?

Since I am freed from thinking about all NIH science things for at least another week, I have begun planning what research might look like under the new agenda. Behold! My seminal discoveries on the PK/PD of homeopathy:

Scientists and Physicians

I’m being serious here —at this precarious juncture, along with all other defensive and support strategies, it is important to seize the public narrative—high level investment and leadership in medical discovery and innovation is unabashedly patriotic!

Really excited by this article from @idpharmacometrx.bsky.social et al. Protamine as the prototype for megalin blockade to reduce/delay kidney accumulation of vanc (and maybe colistin and aminoglycosides…). But also an excellent VIKI overview, fab pics 💕

Pharmacists- Want to take the next step in research?

Check out @ACCP FIT&MERIT programs. FIT was transformational for me. There is a lot to know about doing research (MERIT) and writing a grant (FIT) that isn't easily accessible. See behind the curtain.

Can we please stop meta-analyzing Vancomycin + Pip/Tazo and start trials looking at:
1) real time GFR measurements
2) injury biomarkers
3) progression to RRT (in a prospective manner).

Meta-analysis is good as a stop gap. It is time to fill the gap.

Thanks for hosting @stanggirdwood.bsky.social and presenting Nieko!!! Wonderful to meet many of these people in person.

(Is hash-tagging a thing in here??)
We learned a ton about the precision dosing software, Edsim++/MwPharm+, during @nieko.bsky.social’s annual visit to Cincy. So glad we were also able to bring our collaborators from Chicago to join us! @idpharmacometrx.bsky.social
