A summer bookended by nephro/AKI/CRRT conferences! Seems fitting for a #pseudopseudohyponephrologist!

Proud of @rhodeshambrick.bsky.social for his amazing presentation on drug dosing and his award winning poster on NGAL & cefepime clearance.

What joy to see him recognized as a star! 🤩 🥹

So honored to have been interviewed for this feature article on becoming a faculty member @cincyresearch.bsky.social after doing my fellowship here.

There are so many people I wanted to be included in the article but the list would have taken up the entire article!

Over the 🌙 about past week, spending it w/incredible collaborators & friends from the Netherlands & Chicago.
We were productive, had fun & able to share w/our institution the incredible work we are doing to personalize dosing for kids at #GrandRounds.

Very proud to return to my fellowship Alma mater to co-present Pediatric Grand Rounds at Cincinnati Children’s with this stellar group of pediatric clinical pharmacologists: one dose does indeed NOT fit all! 💊🫘🧬🧪

Thank you @stanggirdwood.bsky.social for being a great host!

Couldn’t have said it better myself.

Excellent thread by @ehahnmd.bsky.social about the relationship between our societal value of children and the pediatric workforce crisis.
Graph these by salary and you’ll get the same results. Pediatricians get paid less because our society doesn’t value children, and particularly sick disabled children. And as pediatricians we have accepted a system where we are devalued because we advocate for our patients instead of ourselves.

Submitted my first R01 (as co-PI) w/ my former mentor, now collaborator!
Would not recommend having 10 days of clinical service in 3 weeks leading up to deadline but was a huge learning experience. No matter the outcome (especially w/uncertainty of NIH funding), I’m proud of what we put together.

We learned a ton about the precision dosing software, Edsim++/MwPharm+, during @nieko.bsky.social’s annual visit to Cincy. So glad we were also able to bring our collaborators from Chicago to join us! @idpharmacometrx.bsky.social

Was planning for a second donation to #HCWvsHunger tomorrow on #GivingTuesday but decided to do it today as part of #RisebyLifting.

#KidVengers lifting up #RxEndingHunger!
FYI: this is a good time to donate to your fave causes that don't match (like my hospital food pantry)!
🍎Donate as usual, take a photo of receipt
🍎Log in donation on behalf of another team (who could, umm, use the help) - BE STRATEGIC
🍎In comments box, write "RISE: KidVengers" as shown below! 2/2

Happy #Friendsgiving!

Despite his not being a fan of the song, hubby cleverly asked if the turkey would be H-O-T-T-O-G-O for the trip to our college ministry student center. Indeed it was!

Sharing a piece on microaggressions that I co-wrote w/my 1st Chinese-American mentee, Lucy Cheng. Such an 👁️ opening experience for me to write this. Hope to publish longer version soon!

Thx @samirshahmd.bsky.social and @rhodeshambrick.bsky.social for thoughtful edits!
