No dollar amount is worth more than human lives or well-being. EVER. Kicking a ball around is never ever ever ever worth more than keeping people safe. Not a backyard game, not a NWSL top of the table clash, not a World Cup final. That should be common sense.

Budgets: A League One Breakdown
This is going to be an article I expect will create a lot of discussion. We keep hearing about budgets, and some fans remain sceptical. After all, no matter what we spent, we could have done better. Key moments in some games let us down, and while we finished 11th on 61 points, we could easily argue that we should have been closer to 70.

Co-written with @poppywilde.bsky.social, our article is out now in @icsjournal.bsky.social. We analyse humorous bad taste Twitter reactions to the death of Prince Philip as a critique of the monarchy, and reflect on the ethics of researching controversial content on social media

My old man attempted a doctorate in the 80s but he didn't complete. This weekend he told me the real reason - he fell under the spell of the immense Orientalism & theology library at Durham and completely got sidetracked - reading!

Totally relate to and celebrate this. Now think he's my real dad.

At a theme park because niece and nephews made me do it. I swear the inventor of theme parks are British - so much queueing.

Prof Geoff Walters of University of Liverpool is one of the most authoritative voices on football admin and I spoke to him as he makes the case for the independent regulator

"the Man United example is why there’s been a need for an independent regulator

And answering my own question: www.linkedin.com/pulse/has-de...

in sum, nowhere near as energy efficient as google, but DeepSeek is better than ChatGPT on the energy use scale at least.

All this talk about Deep Seek vs ChatGPT - which one uses energy more efficiently and uses lest water (i.e. better environmental impact)?

Do you not just love it when:

- you want to make some paneer biryani
- you might as well order some groceries as you're ordering the paneer anyway
- the groceries arrive.. one item unavailable... it's the paneer.

Interesting reactions among peers and also on social
media re: Mark Parsons' appointment as ACFC's Sporting Director. Most US fans are positive and think its a coup; those from Europe have a more.. facepalm.. reaction. #Divisive
