This should be the biggest story in the country right now. The sitting US President was extorting state lawmakers from his own party by threatening to withhold public money if they didn’t gerrymander for him.

I don’t know how else to say it…

Sooo ... could somebody explain to me why, in this case, hundreds of condo developments are up for approval?
And why, when rejected at the municipal council level, their appeals to the Ontario Land Tribunal are successful?

Doesn't make $$$ sense.
Average Toronto condo will lose almost $43,000 in value in 2026
The once red-hot Toronto real estate market cooled significantly in 2025, and home prices in Canada's largest metropolitan area are set to drop even …

They're using the confinement box, one of the most horrific methods of CIA torture in the post-9/11 black sites, against migrants now. This is the direct result of the lack of consequences for the architects of the torture program. Either there will be criminal penalties for this or it will expand.

We shouldn’t have to debate who “deserves” food, healthcare and housing.

We should be angry that these things aren’t guaranteed to everyone.

We should be outraged that the wealthy & corporations continue to profit off the misery and suffering of others.

ICE detained a US citizen who was originally from Somalia.

They grabbed her because they didn’t like her hijab.

She says they sexually assaulted her and said things like “what are you hiding under your hijab”

She was held for 24 hours.

A US citizen. No one is safe.

The fact that a second strike like that in an armed conflict is definitely a war crime should not completely negate the fact that *there is no war* and ALL the strikes are cold-blooded murder. The whole chain of command are murderers.

Not like it would be justified if they were drug smugglers, but I think it hasn't gotten enough focus that a boat with 11 people onboard heading from Venezuela to Trinidad was almost certainly migrants. These were probably, at least for some of them, people fleeing Maduro. That's who they murdered.

Huge data centres being built - what are we doing with their waste energy?
Data centres are energy hungry but what if we could use their waste heat to heat our homes?

That's exactly what happens in places like Finland: Cities are tapping the vast amounts of waste heat generated by data centres, and feeding it into district-heating networks.

Canada's immigration system is broken, but can be fixed.

Too many highly educated & skilled leave within 5 years. Why?
Too hard to start. Unions & prof. associations close the doors of their 'competition.'
