Her name is Dr. Elizabeth Potter, a microsurgeon who specializes in complex breast cancer surgery. And this insurance company is now trying to destroy her reputation & bankrupt her surgery center since she spoke out about their practices.

I’m sure you’ll never guess which health insurance company.

Worth noting that I think there were like 7 early American history jobs (incl non-TT) added last year and Major League Baseball added something like 550 rookie positions in that same timeframe.
My soror shared this note from a university hiring manager. The market isn’t just wrecked. I don’t think this is just a recessionary pullback. 2,000 applications for one higherEd job is 100% a sign of a structural failure. It’s so horrible. I’m sorry.

Trump just posted a letter to Truth Social saying he’s imposing a 35% tariff on goods coming from Canada and if Canada retaliates the number will go up.

Starting August 1, of course, leaving plenty of time for tacos.

Trump has imposed 50% tariffs on Brazil.

Machine learning is a useful tool under certain very particular circumstances and a means of oppression in all other cases.
I'm an "A.i." abolitionist.

No consumer-facing LLMs or generative "A.i." in anything.

Sure, machine learning in science and a few other limited applications is fine.

But consumer-facing LLMs and generative "A.i." that are based on theft, push disinfo, and can be manipulated by billionaires?

No.
