Data centres are energy hungry but what if we could use their waste heat to heat our homes?

That's exactly what happens in places like Finland: Cities are tapping the vast amounts of waste heat generated by data centres, and feeding it into district-heating networks.

@vcorenmitchell.bsky.social Hi Vicoria. Regarding the Bryn Terfel pronunciation, can I (as a retired teacher of Welsh), and with the utmost respect, make a suggestion?
Think of his surname as Terry Velvet.
Say it out loud.
Then drop the _vet.
Then drop the _y.

In the 1980s, your Gran bought her Council House, at a huge discount.

Over 2 million were sold in the UK.

Councils paid-off debts with this money and didn't build new ones.

That's why ALL people stay in crap, failed 'Hotels'.

I was in 'Emergency Housing' for 4 years.

Don't blame immigrants.
Record high number of homeless people in temporary housing in Scotland
Figures released by the Scottish government reveal that 17,240 households were in council-funded properties in March 2025.

In the 1930s Mosley and his rank and file BUF were careful not to outwardly portray themselves as racists.

They weren't antisemitic... far from it... they were just concerned about "bad principles" and "international bankers" and the influx of foreigners

Everyone knew what they meant.

Just for perspective, a few weeks ago roughly 100,000 turned up for the London Trans+ Pride march. By contrast fewer than 3,000 ACROSS THE WHOLE COUNTRY, have turned up to anti-asylum "protests". Yet we are meant to take the latter as "the voice of the people" and the former as "the minority".

The Met Office are letting us submit our own storm name suggestions:

www.metoffice.gov.uk/forms/name-o...

There's space for five names in the submission boxes.

Let's go with:

Exxon Mobil
BP
Shell
Equinor
Chevron

At last, those companies will get the recognition they deserve.

Pls retweet!

If instead of fining water companies money, they were fined shares, they'd either have to do the job they've been paid for or lose the company piece by piece.
Re-nationalisation at no cost to the public.
If Thames Water can pay its "record fine" by passing the cost on to its customers, how is that a punishment?

(Presumably they'll just tack a few more quid onto every bill.)

Hey British media,
It’s no surprise that if you give Farage the run of the place, he’ll start winning.
Time to do your actual jobs and start interrogating him on his Brexit shitshow, his funding, his Trumpiness, his idiotic manifesto, his real plans for the NHS… instead of drumrolling him into No.10

In Hitler's last will and testament, dictating hours before he committed suicide, 80 years ago in April 1945, he insisted that no one had wanted war in 1939. It had been forced on him by 'international Jewry and its helpers.'
Trump has fully turned on Zelenskyy: "He's always looking to purchase missiles. Listen, when you start a war, you gotta know you can win a war. You don't start a war against somebody that's 20 times your size and then hope that people give you some missiles."

Can I please commend the stark difference between the Tories and Reform on Ukraine?

MANY of the most senior Tories have condemned Trump explicitly in very clear terms that allow for no ambiguity or nuance.

Reform are shamefully, even treacherously silent.

Never forgive. Never forget.
