Why do Americans have a system where presidents are above the law. It doesn’t make for good governance.
It took dozens of special agents the best part of a decade to bring Juan Orlando Hernández to justice for flooding US cities with cocaine. Then, in a single social media post last week, Donald Trump set the former Honduran president free. on.ft.com/4oxBJ2v

I was never a fan of unions growing up in the years where they held the country to ransom in the UK but the pendulum has swung too far and they need to make a comeback.
I stand in solidarity with the Starbucks workers on strike.

When a corporation can pay $96 million to its CEO for just four months of work, it can afford to pay its workers a living wage and decent benefits.

Do the republicans have any candidates not in the trump camp that are likely to rise in the next year? With Trump polling so low they need to start planning ahead.

If Australia can’t see evidence of the source of oil it shouldn’t buy it. Russian oil is not wanted.
sanctions with loopholes are like laws that are not enforced or enforced evenly- ineffective at best, corrupt at worst.

Comparing apples with oranges.

It isn’t clear if Trump understands the difference or if it is deliberate misdirection.
Caught lying again.

Maybe consumers could have an AI browser plug-in to optimise the data being used for surveillance to get the best price.
A new report finds corporations like Kroger and McDonald's are using digital loyalty programs to track your data and potentially charge you more.

It's a tactic known as surveillance pricing.

Former FTC Chair Lina Khan explains. https://youtu.be/-cbtUYshYM8?si=GPRt5_WnLehnjgWR

The new pope is making a public stand on a critical issue. I am starting to like him.
He speaks like a poet.
“With your patient and rigorous work, you can act as a barrier against those who, through the ancient art of lying, seek to create divisions in order to rule by dividing,” he said. “You can be a bulwark of civility against the quicksand of approximation and post-truth...”

I wonder if this kind of behaviour from medical professionals is good for their career in the long term.

I recall Margaret Thatcher was losing political ground until the UK was fighting Argentina over the Falklands.
Trump may be playing a similar strategy over Iran.

The people get behind strength when they feel attacked.

Does America feel it was attacked by Iran?

Not sure $600m fine will change TicToc's behaviour with around $20b in revenue, a low cost base and it takes 4 years in the courts.
Europe may need to threaten a block on availability of the app to do that.

I would vote for a commonwealth to eurozone free trade pact.

Tricky to do but would bring strength to the economies with similar ethics.
