The rhetoric coming from the right reminds me of Umberto Eco's remarks on how the enemy constructed by fascism is always simultaneously too strong and too weak – the left is now suddenly violent and dangerous, but not that long ago they were characterised as fragile, ineffective soy-boys.

Watching the Hasan and Ethan debate and I have to say, this almost definitely isn't going to go anywhere because Hasan is coming into it expecting a rational one-to-one, but Ethan sounds very much like he is actually seeking an apology, acknowledgement, or even blame for the harassment he received

This is an #almanac, a printed calendar. This genre was from the sixteenth-century onward produced in high quantities and reached very large audiences. These almanacs were a characteristic part of the contemporary media ensemble, as #mediahistory and #bookhistory knows.

I might be biased as someone who used to work in publishing but sometimes this is why we need gatekeepers ... because we don't need to be flooding the market with another 8,000 books a year (not that the majority will end up anywhere except in the graveyard of the eBook ecosystem, probably) 🤦
Copy-pasted bros with copy-pasted beards make copy-pasted books. Tell me again how some minority academic plagarised something somewhere, mumble-mumble-beardy-mumble.

'Disruptor', lol. Wait till you find out how much authors make, my beardy dudes

USTC was an absolute life- and time-saver for me when I was trying to get a quick survey of the earliest known books to have been printed in Ireland, the copies which survive, and which ones have some kind of digital footprint available. CANNOT recommend enough

Throughout the 2010s, the media ran blaring headlines about millennials "killing" one industry or social norm after another. Now, at long last, we pass the torch—and the blame—to Gen Z:
Gen Z Is Killing the Millennial Hit Piece
Millennials were once blamed for every failing industry and changing social norm, but Gen Z has aged into that role — and is taking the heat.

Why do we call #earlymodern Europe a paper age?

Well, let's have a look at the hints given on this painting from early seventeenth-century by Jan Lievens. Source: www.sammlung.pinakothek.de/en/artwork/A... (Alte Pinakothek, München).
