Good day on Lytchett patch. Great to finally have some clear cold(er) weather. 2 Glossy Ibis, 6 Spoonbill, 2 Goosander, 22 Fieldfare, 86 Brent and generally rather birdy. @harbourbirds.bsky.social #Dorsetbirds

Good raptor day at Lodmoor this am, quite prolonged views of an adult White-tailed Eagle, 2 Marsh Harrier & a Sparrowhawk all in the air & showing well at the same time, later added Kestrel. 136 Golden Plover, 1/2 Great egrets and just 1 Dunlin in with some Lapwing @dorsetbirdclub.bsky.social

Greenshanks still a healthy number with 6 on #LytchettFields this am, also 80+ Lapwing. A pair of Gadwall on SP , in what has been a very poor autumn for records , and a Marsh Harrier just gone over @narwhalsh.bsky.social @harbourbirds.bsky.social

This Curlew 5T was in Lytchett Bay on 03/11/25. It's a Headstart bird ,eggs are taken from healthy populations, then incubated, reared and released. They have 3 release sites, Cranborne(Dorset), Pepperell(W Sussex) and Elmley(Kent). 5T was released in Pepperell on 10/08/25 @harbourbirds.bsky.social

The Glossy Ibis flock flew over Swineham GP on Tuesday morning and landed, 20 minutes later I found them skulking in the long vegetation on Curlew Pools, but could only confirm their number(12) when they were put up by a Marsh Harrier

A 1st for me at Swineham yesterday , the 1st time I've seen Otter on the gravel pit. There were 2 playing with each hour for at least 20 minutes on the far shore
