Holes Bay's resident headstarted bird was first seen last November, and has seemingly been with us ever since!

The Glossy Ibis flock flew over Swineham GP on Tuesday morning and landed, 20 minutes later I found them skulking in the long vegetation on Curlew Pools, but could only confirm their number(12) when they were put up by a Marsh Harrier

A 1st for me at Swineham yesterday , the 1st time I've seen Otter on the gravel pit. There were 2 playing with each hour for at least 20 minutes on the far shore

Even though we know this tiny Firecrest is an insect eater this pic make it look like it's eyeing up a juicy sloe . at #LytchettFields yesterday

Unfortunately yesterdays adult and young White-tailed Eagle approached me from behind whilst I was watching the waders on #LytchettFields so I only got on them as they were already past me. They were constantly interacting as they headed off towards the Baker's Arms

Just checked the feeders at Lytchett Bay and nearly got hit in the face by a sparrowhawk! It came straight towards me at eye level then veered off at the last second. All birds & squirrels scattered. Amazing. @ianballam.bsky.social @narwhalsh.bsky.social

Grey Plover with Dunlin #LytchettFields yesterday
November 10, 2025 at 6:01 PM
Dunlin has had the opposite autumn at Lytchett with depressingly low numbers , yesterday there were 17 on French's Pool which was a high count for the autumn (although there were 36 today)

It's certainly been a good autumn for Grey Plover at #Lytchett with between 1 and 3 birds most days around the fields, this one from yesterday on French's Pools
