Good raptor day at Lodmoor this am, quite prolonged views of an adult White-tailed Eagle, 2 Marsh Harrier & a Sparrowhawk all in the air & showing well at the same time, later added Kestrel. 136 Golden Plover, 1/2 Great egrets and just 1 Dunlin in with some Lapwing @dorsetbirdclub.bsky.social

Pleasant hour at RLV, Lytchett Bay high tide am good to see Wigeon back, juv & male ad Marsh Harrier, Green Sandpiper flyby. Also an unseen but calling Grey Plover over, plus a Kingfisher zipped through @narwhalsh.bsky.social @ianballam.bsky.social @harbourbirds.bsky.social

It must be flying ants coming out in the front garden. Black-headed Gulls are swooping around our front garden really low quite an amazing sight.

Great morning at Martin Down with 15 butterflies including Cinnabar moth and Broad-bordered Bee Hawk-moth. Hard to think of when I've seen so many Marsh Fritillaries, also Dingy and Grizzled Skipper, Green Hairstreak - an absolute delight @savebutterflies.bsky.social

We sat eating lunch next to a singing Nightingale looking over a valley when an adult White-tailed Eagle comes into view, just amazing. A wonderful day at RSPB Pulborough Brooks in W Sussex.

If a crime is suspected a PM should be done within days to establish cause of death and if necessary inform a police investigation. A poor show by Natural England, a public body, not to keep the public informed.

Did our Heathland Bird survey this morning with @lytchettbirder.bsky.social on Purbeck NNR and great to record a family party of Woodlark, several Tree Pipit, Linnet, Stonechat but not even one Dartford! A singing Redstart was a nice surprise. @dorsetbirdclub.bsky.social
