Good bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure actually makes things *easier* for cars.

If the infrastructure is there, more people will ride bikes or walk, that's fewer cars on the road, which means less traffic.

There are environmental benefits too, but motorists care more about traffic.
🚨 ACTION ALERT: Secretary Duffy’s DOT says bike lanes are “not in the public interest” – and is canceling hundreds of millions in grants for biking, walking, and trail projects nationwide. Take action: bikeleague.org/action-center

Exactly right. If the executive can stop payments, then any deal in congress is just wishful thinking.
Feel like if this is how the law works, there’s no reason to make a budget deal because there’s no reason to believe anything that you win via Congress will actually happen anyway.

Brutal, inhuman treatment of a starving and suffering populace.
“Starving families who sent their loved ones to collect some food for them were now at the hospital with their wounded loved ones seeking treatment.
With two bullets in the thighs, and another bullet in his arm, one young man was screaming in pain.”

Knives, bullets and thieves: the quest for food in Gaza
NPR's Gaza producer faced Israeli military fire, private U.S. contractors pointing laser beams at his forehead and masked thieves as he tried to get food from a U.S.-supported group.

Sometimes it's fine to add a tangential thought to a conversation. Sometimes it's not. Knowing when you can and when you shouldn't is hard, and definitely harder online with people you've never met. As long as intentions are good and apologies are quick, no big deal.

The NC state courts are making bad decisions. It is not a good idea to allow something that is being appealed to be carried out until the appeal is over. Justice Riggs wasn't certified until the appeals were finished, this should be no different.

I rode my bicycle to pick up sushi today. I will definitely be doing that again.

This is important for North Carolinians. The lack of affordable housing is an issue that affects everyone. These bills, if passed, will make a difference. Call your state legislators!
If we're going to solve North Carolina's housing crisis, we'll need to build our way out of it. There's no "one weird trick" for bringing down housing costs - it's going to require several different reforms from different directions. And you can help!

Today, I rode my bike 20 miles!

I took part in the GoCoastNC.org annual River to Sea bike ride. I've never been much of a bike rider, but I want to get into it more. This was a great event to get some more biking under my belt in a safe and supportive environment.

Just updated this timeline to fix a typo and address an error in the last box where I'd gotten the manner of arrest wrong.

I present the full version Mr. Abrego's time in the United States, using court documents to explain the allegations of gang membership and what actually happened in his case.
