Gamedev and gamer. Love all genres, modern and retro. He/him. ADHD.
I know some don't like the combat but I found it really engaging, I played on hard and had a blast.

As for the horror at the beginning I thought it wasn't very scary, but by the end it had its moments, starting at the middle school it got creepy and did a great job building from there till the end.

I've learned a lot in making the start of my own framework from scratch, but if I want to release a game using a tool that's already production ready like Unreal is a no brainer, especially because I already know how to use it.

I think long term really shows which games I like the most.

There are a lot of games I really love but have no desire to replay, and I think that says something when there are some games I will replay without a second thought, regardless of whether they are super linear or not.

I think it's similar to CoD's success today.

GT was a racing game, and was probably enjoyed by people who weren't your average gamers.

For a similar example my Dad NEVER played video games, he hated them, but sunk 100s if not 1000s of hours into Nascar '99 on N64, then never touched a game again.

I completed this the first time this year and it is so good, the pulled content was definitely noticeable but even with a chunk of the story missing it still kicks ass

Deserves a better reputation imo

Your game looks interesting, I like the ship zapping the tracks and the switching between them it's cool!

SDL2 was high on my list of options but I ended up going GLFW for my current project

I'll drop a follow and maybe I can see what you've got going when it's more ready :)

I'm sharing pretty early but even for my relatively simple, retro style rendering it took a few months to get to anything that shows the purpose of the framework, before that I was just piecing it together quietly

I have nothing against 2D btw and love a lot of 2D games, it's just hard to find people making 3D games outside major engines and I've found it has a lot of different and interesting challenges
