Final decision on restoring the Palace of Westminster will be delayed until 2030s

MPs were expected to vote by the end of 2025 on a way forward for fixing the crumbling parliament, but that now won't happen

Final decision on fate of crumbling UK parliament delayed to 2030s
It’s a fire-hazard that’s prone to tumbling masonry — but fear of a public backlash is again delaying repairs to the world famous building.

It just seems to be a fixed feature of media culture that newsdesks + subs can do "protests anticipated" & "protests continue/swell" but will never put "protests shrink" even when they do

So there is a chasm between the framing/headlines & the live reporting of smaller protests than before

Canadian things you can watch next Sunday that are just as good as the Super Bowl, if not better:
1) Meetings of Parliament's Standing Joint Committee for the Scrutiny of Regulations
2) #1 but watch it with the audio feed of the other official language

YOU'RE WELCOME.

Because the Lord is not interested in, has never been interested in, was born, died, and was crucified without any interest in "basic common sense." "Basic common sense" is our fetish, not His. He came to heal the sick and wake up the dead.

“The example that Jesus gave us is timeless and universal. It is to enter into the world of those who suffer, to make a difference to their lives, and so bring hope where there is despair.

When our theology and politics as Christians are completely
preoccupied with how other people might be sinning rather than focusing on how our own sin contributes to the current problems of our world, that is when we know our religion is about control rather than redemption.

Spending on MPs' expenses and staff costs amounts to about £150m each year (0.01% of all spending).

Why do people think that MPs' expenses are in the top three spending items, when they're not in the top three hundred?
