Unser Bündnispartner "No Patents On Seeds" hat einen neuen Bericht zu Patenten auf traditionell gezüchtete Pflanzen veröffentlicht.
Vor dem Europäischen Patentamt stehen große Gemüsefiguren (Tomate und Brokkoli) mit „Schrei“-Gesichtern. Text auf dem Bild: „Neuer Bericht von NoPatentsOnSeeds: EPA und Agrarkonzerne umgehen systematisch das Patentrecht! Pflanzen und Tiere sind keine Erfindungen! Trotzdem sichern sich Konzerne Patente auf traditionelle Züchtungen.“ Hintergrund mit reifen Tomaten an einer Pflanze. Text auf dem Bild: „Die aktuellen Zahlen aus dem Bericht: 2024 wurden rund 90 Patentanmeldungen veröffentlicht, die die traditionelle Pflanzenzüchtung betreffen. 2024 wurden rund 40 Patente erteilt, die Nahrungs­pflanzen ohne Gentechnik beanspruchen. Etwa die Hälfte dieser Patente betrifft Pflanzen, die besonders widerstands­fähig gegenüber Virus- und Pilzkrankheiten sind.“ Hintergrund mit Brokkolipflanzen.
