160 years ago today, the 13th Amendment was ratified to end slavery, with one major exception: punishment for a crime.

Remember that while food banks welcome donations of food, they prefer $$$$$$$. They have deals with grocery stores and suppliers. You can only buy one dollar's worth of food for one dollar, but they can buy several dollars' worth. So don't, like, buy food to donate it, just give 'em the dough.

Just to be clear, an English degree - learning to critically assess texts - is actually one of the most dangerous for people such as Badenoch.
An educated population, able to bring hundreds of years of context to statements in a dawning age of AI slop and attention-seeking dishonesty is also vital.

One of the current candidates for governor of Virginia has a mud-slinging line in one of her web ad spots saying her opponent "wants to put boys in girls' locker rooms"... it had very much NOT the intended effect on me.
It made me think "Wait, what? Oh ok transphobe, you just lost my vote."
