The Black Panther Party was filled with these revolutionary women. Women like Angela Davis, Assata Shakur, Elaine Brown, etc., who fought, gave sweat, tears, and blood, for lots of the rights that Black women in the US enjoy today. Kamala Harris did nothing for y'all. Absolutely nothing!!

This is why I never seem to understand Black women who insist on worshipping imperialists and genocidal maniacs like Kamala Harris. Yes, she's Black, but she ain't a revolutionary. There's like countless Black women in history, who fought for the rights of Black folks and working class people.

Brown snapped back by relaying that bourgeois feminists like Gloria Steinem and Betty Friedan had pushed the false narrative that the Black Panther Party was a chauvinist movement, reducing the party’s revolutionary work to traditional gender roles.

The anxiety is in fact more about stamping one's feet and screaming "MEN CAN'T BE WOMEN" because to allow that porosity between two imperfect and socially-enforced categories is to allow the entire edifice of men's superiority, of male-supremacy to crumble as we admit the difference is exaggerated.

I often think that if we’re to fight fascism as socialists and workers, we need to know what fascism is. Misusing the word dulls our understanding—and our power to stop it. Here's a thread with a break down of what fascism actually is, from a Marxist (also some of Trotsky's research) perspective. 🧵
