Making the thing is the point, along with learning and growing, even at times when you feel like you are struggling and want to give up. That "talent" people yearn for is honestly just spite that keeps you trying, challenging yourself at whatever pace it takes.

LRP just like any field of study, creative pursuits require work to hone your skills and master your craft which is why people are turning to genAI as a shortcut to bypass that to get the "rewards" of creating something when the real reward is the accomplishment of finishing something YOU made.

Last year I met another creative who told me that they don't like to keep up with the news/politics, and that their creative practice isn't impacted by "things like that". It upset me, because there is no world where that is possible

Whether you "keep up with politics" or not it impacts everything
