We finally heard back from insurance and it's not good.
We have a $500 deductible and a couple of the destroyed items were deemed to have "Depreciated in value" so out of the $1700-2000 worth of destroyed stuff we claimed we're getting back... ~$600.
That's it.

This guy gets it: Trump's autocratic attempt is going well. They don't care what most of the US thinks, and vanishingly few of his voters regret their vote because trans people and immigrants are being hurt more than they are being hurt.
The hopium is wild to see. No, Trump isn't "fucked." He is in a moment many fascists were, which is to say losing popularity once in power.
But that is why authoritarians take power: so no one can take it from them. Popularity doesn't matter as much when you're in complete control.
