Deliberately misgendering someome caries the same weight as calling POC the N word. Or a gay person a f*ggot. It is not okay to puposefuly misgender someone. It is abuse. We must give it zero tolerance. The same as we do for other forms of hate/discrimination.

I work at the front desk of a dispensary, and I just had someone come in, look at me, and say “I am not even trying to be rude, but you do your makeup better than my lady does.”

As I have said before, fascism is on the rise WORLDWIDE. That being said, Alberta is one of the most conservative (or maybe THE most, i’m not sure) parts of Canada. We must remain vigilant, but I do not believe this will leak into other more progressive parts of Canada.

I'm saddened to report that Alberta has passed a gender affirming care ban for under 16s, which would ban puberty blockers and HRT way past the age most experience puberty.
