A world with clean indoor air, improved vaccines, free tests and masks, contact tracing, and COVID “weather alerts” when transmission rates are high & resulting mask mandates…

All of this was & is entirely possible, but the people at the top & their flunkies said no & people too eagerly complied.

Configuration is important. Warm human aerosol rises toward the ceiling. The idea is to scavenge warm, dirty air from the ceiling, filter it, & blast it down along the wall, where it can spread out over the floor & convect back up past the occupants’ faces. See ALT for more.

Finally! I built & tested an open-source concept model air purifier that should be good for schools. Lots of air (CADR > 420 CFM), quiet (<45 dBA), uses <9 W, and ‘cause it’s wall-mounted & down-blowing, it moves air in the right direction & takes up no floor space. Always check my ALTs🧵⬇️

Australian Scientists Step Closer To Curing Long-COVID.

Australian researchers have developed a drug that prevents symptoms of long-COVID symptoms in "mice".

It brings new hope of a cure for the condition that affects around 1 in 20 Australians who've been exposed to the virus.

Horizontal air movements are not recommended: imagine an infected person who is in a horizontal flow; then his neighbor will be directly exposed to his aerosols. This is why in some theaters, we have vertical flows as close as possible to the spectators (see photo).

Several small air purifiers may be a better solution than one large one. You might think that this would improve the homogeneity of filtration in a room. But we've also built large purifiers to carry out a few tests, like this model with a capacity of 450 m3/h.
