Landlord definitely wasn’t gonna shovel, so I put a few beers in the snow, a doom album on and did it myself. My disabled/differently-abled and elderly neighbors don’t deserve trudging through the snow to get to the Thorndale stop. Also, put off cleaning the bathroom for 2 hours. #edgewater #chores

Today, after months of requests, I toured the Broadview ICE Processing Facility. I want to share what I saw.
The facility has no food vendor, no medical care, and detainees have to use toilets in the middle of shared cells. These are in no way suitable conditions to be holding anyone — period.

Would be easy to list all the areas not in downtown tourists love, but that’s not the point. This piece is a perfect encapsulation of the Board’s ideooogy: Chicago is for tourists. The people that live in Chicago’s neighborhoods are here to work for the tourists.
