Childless dog lady. Still trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up.
So much corruption, so little time.

We’re going to need an army of accountants and lawyers to investigate/ prosecute all of this in the, hopefully, not so distant future.

You are understanding it correctly! Through no fault of their own, despite being approved for SIJS, they may still be deported because Congress decided to link SIJS to visa availability, visas are so backlogged that that means a multi-year wait, and SIJS itself doesn't protect from deportation.
If I'm understanding this correctly, children who qualified for the special status, who have spent formative years here, and through no fault of their own experiencing administrative delays, can be deported while they wait for a green card?

The cruelty is immense.

This number is completely made up. There are not 30 million undocumented immigrants. The most recent estimates are around 14 million, of which roughly 8 million people have been here for over a decade.

Vance is not a fool. He knows this. DHS produces official estimates. They don’t say 30 million.
JD Vance: "A lot of young people are saying housing is way too expensive. Why is that? Because we flooded the country with 30 million illegal immigrants who were taking houses that ought by right go to American citizens."

"The entire time, her green card was in her pocket."

This is not making anyone safer.
Unconstitutional "birthplace" stop by ICE. These are crimes. The solution to crime is punishment.

Thomas Massie (R-KY) told CNN: “This vote is going to be on your record for longer than Trump is going to be president. And what are you going to do in 2028 and 2030 when you’re in a debate…and they say, ‘How can we trust you? You covered up for a pedophile back in 2025.’”

This is encouraging.

NEW: @propublica.org investigated the Chicago apartment raid where kids were zip-tied and citizens detained for hours. They find:

- NONE of the arrested were criminally charged
- NO evidence the building was "filled with TdA terrorists."
- ZERO legitimate reason for DHS to rappel from a Blackhawk.

Interesting to see a Republican acknowledging a time after Trump.
Thomas Massie to CNN on the Epstein files: "This vote is gonna be on your record for longer than Trump is gonna be president. And what are you gonna do in 2028 and 2030 when you're in a debate … and they say, 'How can we trust you? You covered up for a pedophile back in 2025.'"

I feel like this point is weirdly under-discussed in the discourse! Acosta himself approved Epstein's notorious sweetheart non-prosecution agreement. By elevating Acosta to the cabinet later, Trump seemed to ... pretty clearly reward that?
trump made the prosecutor who gave epstein a pass the secretary of labor!

It's driving me batty that nobody except Heather Cox Richardson, the Washington Monthly, and myself is covering Trump's race to sell off (for likely demolition) "the Sistine Chapel of the New Deal," w/ murals by Ben Shahn, Philip Guston, etc. I've furnish links below to help reporters get started.

Exactly!
This is why people have zero trust in politics. Because terrible self-serving things pass while healthcare for people doesn’t.

People are just now finding out that Chuck Schumer, whose closest advisor on major issues is an imaginary family he made up in his childhood (yes, really), might not be the best choice to lead in times like these
From the johnoliver community on Reddit: John Oliver breaks down how Chuck Schumer has based his entire political strategy on an entirely fictional Long Island couple named Joe and Eileen Bailey

Still one of the funniest things to happen ever.
Five yrs ago today in my role as head of Voter Protection for Biden-Harris in Phila, at right about this moment, I was reaching out to our team to figure out who could sneak into a hastily-called press conference by Rudy Giuliani at the Four Seasons Hotel ... and then, what, it's going to be where??
