We live in a fascist regime and a large chunk of our population licks these boots.
It's hard to feel hopeful today. I'm remembering the joy and hope we had on election night in 2008 and seeing that same optimism in young people today. It's hard to not be pessimistic and anticipate their disappointment. Obviously I'd prefer a better future, but I wouldn't bet money on it.

There needs to be a term for that specific feeling when a ridiculous video is in my feed and I want to comment something snarky to the brand but then I remember that the person responsible for making and posting that video is another parent in my kid's class and that's why I'm following that page.

There was a lot of trauma during the pandemic response (my therapy copays are proof of that) but I do miss when people actually washed their hands and wiped their phones regularly. That was nice.
