Fair play to Sadiq Khan. To live rent-free inside the head of the president of the USA is a massive achievement for any Mayor of London.

Maybe I haven't looked hard enough but can't see any posts from the Starmer bashers who insist they will always give praise when it's due. I'd have though his efforts with other world leaders to reign in Trump and help Zelensky was worthy of praise. I'll keep looking.

Who was in Government in 2017?
Here's a fact for you all.

Prior to 2017 there was not a single documented case of any individual travelling by small boats across the English Channel to caim asylum in the UK.

Not ONE.

This current 'boats' crisis has been largely caused by Brexit.

But for some reason NOBODY is saying that.

Totally this.

Put the bloody phone down.
Not for the first time I am begging angry people to put the phone down, walk through actual streets, go to actual pubs, stand on the touch line at local sports clubs, browse Saturday markets, chat with ramblers on footpaths and rediscover beauty & contentedness.

Apparently, according to my wife, "keep hydrated" doesn't mean "drink frozen margaritas", and I feel this is a misjudgment.

If you want to understand the mindset of the relatively normal people who are now supporting Reform, it’s worth taking a quick look here where The Newsagents go to Reform’s first pub, in Blackpool.

Labour have over 6k elected Councillor’s the Tories over 5k, Lib Dem’s over 3k yet the BBC and most other media outlets are acting as if Reform with less than 9O0 ( less than the Greens) are running the country.

This
So after the local election results the total councillors in UK is now:

Labour - 6125
Cons - 4400
Lib Dems - 3155
Green - 891
Reform - 677

I’m with Sarah. The media should hold him accountable for his Brexit, support of a sex offending president etc…
Hey British media,
It’s no surprise that if you give Farage the run of the place, he’ll start winning.
Time to do your actual jobs and start interrogating him on his Brexit shitshow, his funding, his Trumpiness, his idiotic manifesto, his real plans for the NHS… instead of drumrolling him into No.10

Funny how he's changed his tune.

Love to see some polling on whether people think immigration has fallen in the last year. I'm fairly sure a large majority would say no.
The significant fall in immigration (visas) in 2024 is now a fact, not a forecast.

The 2024 net migration figure will be published in May 2025. Media and political discourse will catch up - a little bit - after those figures come up, but net migration is towards half of what most people say it is

Yeah it's time for proper restriction of smart phones for kids. Even a ban. We have enough evidence they're dreadful for us and worse for children. Let's get on with it now.

If your students struggle with GCSE English Language because they don't have the wider reading experience and the mental library to draw on, you need to bring that wide reading INTO CLASS in KS3.

Breadth over depth at KS3. Shared experience of texts that everyone can draw on. 1/
