Retired housing and social care chief executive.Ramble and rant about nonsense, politics and Sheffield Wednesday but not necessarily in that order. Always got something to say, mostly rubbish but always kind.
Sheffield and Thornham
A bit of Richard Hawley is just the perfect background tune for Mortimer and Whitehouse Gone Fishing.

What will introducing AI into the prisoner release scheme mean in reality ? I can just imagine a Governor going to Grok and asking if he can release Norman Stanley Fletcher tomorrow morning.

Driving in Sheffield and Chesterfield today you can’t help noticing how sad, torn, bedraggled and dirty the flags strung from lampposts have become. Another couple of weeks and they will be collecting on verges and kerbsides along with the McDonalds cups and other detritus tossed from car windows

'They were those like Sir Oswald Mosley who were fascinated by the spectacle of brutal power. They would like to use it themselves. They grovelled to Nazi dictatorship in order that they could make people in their turn grovel to them'

Conservative Shadow Culture Secretary Nigel Huddleston tells GB News that the BBC should "grovel" to Trump.

Amazing how many British 'patriots' are spending their time telling our national broadcaster to prostrate itself before a hostile foreign leader

If we're talking about bias, why do BBC politics programmes, from Politics Live to the Laura Kuennsberg Show, still always begin with a look at the newspaper front pages, which are overwhelmingly biased in one direction. Helps frame the entire news agenda and debate in their favour

At least us Members of the National Trust get to elect the Trustees and so far have been successful in keeping out the undesirables with an agenda. Perhaps that should be the model for the BBC then the undesirables with an agenda could not be appointed by politicians with the same agenda.

Seeing as Trump appears to have a total disregard for International Law then perhaps the BBC should follow his example and ignore the lawsuit.

Seems like we do have no go areas in the UK. But of course they are not the areas our media or politicians want to talk about. So hard to feel much pride for my country at the moment

Winter has arrived ! Fell over this morning on the (very) early dog walk. At my age did I trip or …. did I have a fall ?

Now it’s up to Nandy to make the right appointment with no cock-ups.

Every now and then you watch a game where one player is actually unplayable and today is one of those days. Take a bow Jeremy Doku. It’s like watching Kinkladze in his prime.

And still people are setting off fireworks. Think I’ll take my dog for a walk and get her to bark incessantly outside their front door. 😡😡

"It’s tempting to read The Traitors as symbolic of the state of modern Britain: a place where everyone suspects that everyone else might be against them; which seems diverse but where those who seem in some way different are the first to face suspicion when the going gets rough..."
The happy psychopathy of The Traitors
Contestants on the BBC show are suspicious, paranoid and prone to herd mentality. But they're also surprisingly nice

The EFL have got to let us sign a couple on loan. This group of lads cannot keep this level of intensity up for much longer. Pederson has so few options without exposing young kids to harm #swfc

My predictions are never really any good but is it worth a cheeky fiver on Ugbo to end his run this afternoon ? #swfc

I see Henrik says Chalobah is still 3/4 games away from a start but he hasn’t talked about Dishon as far as I know. Is he still a long way off I wonder. #swfc

I reckon Farage will quit before the next election citing an unmanageable and chaotic Reform Party. He will choose to walk away rather than deal with the increasing scrutiny his Party will face.

Wonder where that big flag we used to unfurl and move across the Kop and North Stand has gone. Be nice to see it back against the Blades #swfc
