In an effort at something good on the internet today: A thread on Mr KJC, gingerbread architect of the early 21st century.

Mr KJC got his beginnings like so many gingerbread architects: with a kit house for the kids. Kind of fun but the premade pieces are dry and nasty, only technically edible.

Rob Reiner either made your favorite movie, or made somebody you know’s favorite movie. If you’re a Californian, he’s also part of the reason you or your friends can get married. He has changed more lives for the better than this asshole commenting on him ever did.

Writers who use genAI for illustrations are class traitors. We all have to fight this beast TOGETHER. We are not just trying to save SOME of our livelihoods.
Self-published authors are unfortunately very rapidly becoming my most-blocked demographic on here due entirely to the rampant use of hideous AI generated book covers
Just in case it wasn't clear: If I click on your profile and see that you've used AI to make something, you get blocked.

you know i learned the joys of cutting things out and it's really good. i mean it very sincerely & not like "look at me im better and smarter", but it's great to cut shit out. it feels so much better to have something needless out. but you do gotta hone that ability to edit hard
What’s something you’ve been too stubborn to cut from your WIP even though you probably need to? #WritingPrompt

OMG everyone!!! Mr Collins in Love is one of the 10 New York Times Best Romances of 2025!!!!

I'm literally dancing round the living room with joy 🥰
Mr. Collins in Love by @leewelchwriter.bsky.social. Truly a “hold my beer” romance premise — what if one of the most annoying characters in literature was the hero and he’s still Mr. Collins but now you loved him and wanted him to get the queer HEA he deserves? Landscapes Tolkien would die for.
New book! Mr Collins in Love – a Pride and Prejudice retelling
If you like Pride and Prejudice, you probably remember Mr Collins? He’s the odious clergyman who asks lovely heroine Elizabeth Bennet to marry him. She refuses. He’s one of the most ridiculed chara…

I didn't know people did this and now I want to pay someone to flood all the pirate sites with 'adjusted' versions of all my romance novels.
I truly hope if you're downloading books that you download one of the ones that are uploaded with the fake endings, the random "and then he shit in her mouth and turned her into a zombie" that i know someone is adding that to her romance books & has her sister upload dozens of versions of that.

the idea is not all that counts. the idea is nothing at all until it has been lassooed, corralled, mutated, shuffled, blended with other ideas, and then expressed over the medium of however many thousand words that you have selected and arranged as best you can. the idea is a promise, not a book.
