I'm looking into GDPR for my apprenticeship project and I found that Lawful Processing means giving users a real choice of whether or not to share their data. In which case, the advent of websites charging for the privilege of not sharing user data is surely not compliant with GDPR?

Don't trust "AI" and also realize that the push to have "AI" in everything happened because some tech people wanted to get rich and other tech people didn't want others to get rich without them, and now they've all spent too much money on a bad product and are trying to scramble out of the hole.
Columbia Journalism Review tested eight generative AI search tools and found their answers were wrong 60% of the time, and the paid ones actually fared worse than the free ones.

Meanwhile, millions of people trust the way they present total bullshit with confident language.
AI search engines cite incorrect sources at an alarming 60% rate, study says
CJR study shows AI search services misinform users and ignore publisher exclusion requests.

UPDATE—Mahmoud's attorney says they do NOT know where he is.
They were first told he was sent to an ICE facility in Elizabeth, NJ. But when his 8-month-pregnant wife tried to visit him, she was told he's not there.
They've received reports he may be sent as far away as Louisiana.

I wish I could repost this a bunch of times for emphasis. The way society is ignoring long covid - and government is defunding support for long covid - is maddening. And then they ask "why are more ppl on disability benefits"? I WONDER COULD IT BE THE MASS DISABLING PANDEMIC?

Friends, please boost share and donate to Linka’s wheelchair fund if you can. The amount needed has tripled, which means we need youse to help get this out of our little circles to people who will help Linka get a wheelchair to leave the house independently for the first time in five years.
Finally got the final quote for my wheelchair and it’s bumped the GoFundMe up from £8k to £20k. I’m devestated - cried a lot, contemplated giving up completely. But friends told me to keep going so if you can share, I would hugely appreciate it

I honestly believe our most powerful position in a toxic time that feeds on cynicism, apathy,& despair is to genuinely care and act for a better world.

Cynicism is our enemy. We should check it, incl. on the left. It’s not intellectually superior. It’s the virus they’re trying to infect us with. NO

Why do people in public toilets use water to wash their hands but no soap? What's the point? Why must I witness this depravity? 😭
