I've watched members of my own family become steadily more racist and more comfortable expressing their racism over the last nine years, and I just don't know what to do about it. How do we come back from this? How do we put this genie back in the bottle?

I'm not sure how religious I am these days, but the only reason I don't identify as an atheist at the moment, is cause the way I've watched my Christian family throw away all their principles for a man who has none, wrapped in religious colors - it isn't that fucking far off from the Antichrist.

I really want to believe the Epstein thing is "it," but I watched these people vote to cut off their own goddamn Medicaid. At a certain point it is tantamount to dementia and impossible to predict the next step. I'm only gonna celebrate if we get a blue wave, but I'm not planning around it.

At this point if he starts becoming even somewhat lucid again it's a good thing. Maybe we'll stand a fucking chance in 2028 if enough people "regret" what they did. Even if it was obvious what was going to happen.

Had as close as I could get to a heart to heart with my mother last night for what it's worth. When I graduated high school I wanted to stop bad guys. I read all the literature my mother gave me about terrorism, and sadly realized how much cruel theocratic ideas shared in common with MAGA.

Safe to say that we are officially in the new American Cold War. It's unfortunate but you now have a choice to make. To either get involved or keep your head down. Soon as my oxygen mask is on, I know what I'm doing.
