Australia recorded nearly 60,000 whooping cough cases in 2024, the highest among countries studied.

WA continues to see high levels, with over 1,960 cases, 645 more than last year.

Researchers say reduced spread during COVID, from masks, lockdowns and hand washing, left more people susceptible.🤦

The Albanese govt sat on this report for TWO YEARS, and then only released it after parliament finished for the year.
The report was originally commissioned “to enhance integrity and trust in government institutions” lol

The worst thing to happen to academia was the emergence of a nomadic administrative class like the one in corporations who just move from institution to institution setting fires and walking away.

Say what you will about the flaws of faculty governance, but at least they believe in the mission.

Very disappointing the Albanese Govt has refused to accept the full suite of recommendations from the Briggs Review designed to stop the jobs for mates culture in federal politics.

No surprise there is such low trust in politicians!

Communities constantly call for more integrity but are ignored.

Now it's clear why the Albanese Govt was hiding it for two years.
