there's a moment in PARADISE LOST where Satan arrives in Eden and realizes Hell isn't a place; it's a thing he carries within him and it'll follow him wherever he goes. and i think about that when i see these awful rich men whose monstrous wealth has enriched them not at all

Are you a college student at an Indianapolis school? Do you need some help finding food?

Your school might have a food pantry you can use. Check out the schools that do and if you need to make an appointment: https://bit.ly/49bVSaz

It remains to be seen what happens in the Senate, but I will not vote in the House for a government funding measure that doesn't protect healthcare.

Without extending Affordable Care Act tax credits, millions will see health insurance costs double. Hardworking Americans just can't afford that.

I loved this conversation with Andi, and tried to get at something important that I think has been lost: feminism is a discrete ideology, and has a more specific meaning than “anything any woman ever says about gender.”

To help transfer and adult students navigate college, IU Indy has a new program this semester that pairs them with another transfer or adult student who can relate to their experience.

Hear what students currently in the program have to say about the impact it has had: https://bit.ly/43YdR0u

When the Headline Gets It Wrong: Feminism Isn’t the Problem—Patriarchy Is
When I saw the headline “Did Women Ruin the Workplace? And if So, Can Conservative Feminism Fix It?” in The New York Times, my heart sank.

I’m thinking a lot about all of these airline cancellations, and how they might affect students trying to leave for the Thanksgiving holiday. If this continues on, I’m going to be very graceful to students who tell me they need to leave a day or two earlier.

My reviewing style has changed over time. Rather than litigate every little thing, and pushing my own ideas, I focus only on 2 things:
(1) Are the claims interesting/important?
(2) Does the evidence support the claims?

Most of my reviews these days are short and focused.

Chicagoans have learned a lot. I have to think ppl have put together good resources to post about how to effectively resist them?

If the workplace has been ruined I'm pretty sure it's because of corporate greed and, in the case of higher education, the intrusion of corporate values into a space that should be dedicated to research, teaching, and learning.
