What do 2009 and 2025 have in common?

2025 was the best year for the FTSE 100 since 2009.

2025 was also the first FULL year under a Labour government since 2009.

Coincidence? Maybe. But it's not as if it's the only data point showing improving trends now we have a Labour government again.

Animal welfare strategy

The strategy is launched later today and will deliver on several manifesto promises our Labour government made - and more!

+ a ban on trail hunting

+ a ban on snare traps

+ creation of a closed season on hares, to reduced numbers killed during breeding season.

Labour are doing a great job and I am happy we have them in government repairing our country.

And they are getting on with the job, not letting the constant negativity in the media distract them.

And we are starting to see the benefits...and soon the media won't be able to ignore it.

This is very welcome news, both to support long term jobs in the Port Talbot area, but also to secure the future of steel production in the UK.

The new furnace, investing £1.25bn in for its construction, will run on electricity and predominantly reprocess scrap metal.

Did you know the most powerful force for climate action is LOVE—for our children, their future, and the world they’ll inherit?

That's right! Research shows this message moves hearts 12x more than jobs and 2x more than extreme weather.

I’m glad we’re studying this because I sure am tired of dealing with the consequences of issues-only climate reporting.

It might help raise awareness, but it doesn’t encourage people to take action if all they ever hear about is the bad.

That’s why so many young people think things are hopeless.
Journalists covering a major climate report in 2022 broke with a “historical tradition” of focusing on the negative impacts of climate change, shifting instead to “positive, solutions-based reporting”, a study has found.
