Working 2nd and 3rd jobs to supplement their income with Social Security shouldnt come with a caveat because of a public pension. If they paid in to it, they’re entitled to it.

Actually, it would pay benefits according to what workers paid into the system. If a worker pays in all of his quarters PRIOR to, or in addition to, working a job with a defined benefit plan, why shouldn’t they receive their earned SS upon retirement?

Truly under appreciated how much bigger houses are now than back then.
There is a lot that we could and should do to increase housing affordability, but the basic reality is that a nice suburban 1950s family house would be *tiny* by contemporary American standards which is why they were affordable on lower incomes.

I am concerned that this chatter like WSJ OpEds, Hannity pieces, and Economist articles about cutting VA and veterans benefits are trial balloons. They’re shaping the discussion so anything short of cutting all of our benefits, healthcare, and closing the VA is a “compromise.”

Even if you're not moved by the argument that Twitter is a rightwing cesspool thanks to its redpilled owner, the fact that foreign enemies are expressing concern that they won't be able to use Twitter to manipulate Americans anymore should be enough to warrant the exodus.
If you needed even MORE of a reason to switch to Bluesky, China is "troubled" by the fact that they've invested so much time on Twitter buying ads, bots, and influencers... only to see the people they're seeking to manipulate (us) flee the site.
