In a year in which the VP argued that "America is not just an idea," it's worth returning to the Gettysburg Address, delivered on this day 162 years ago.

Donald Trump could have just kept his mouth shut about Jamal Khashoggi.

But to smear a dead journalist, while sitting with the person accused of orchestrating his murder is just vile.

Every time this administration hits rock bottom, a trap door seems to open.

Cretin behavior.

I will never forget having to edit Jamal’s final, posthumous piece for the Washington Post, after he was murdered.

He was calling for free expression in the Arab world. You can read it here :

Opinion | Jamal Khashoggi: What the Arab world needs most is free expression
The Arab world needs a modern version of the old transnational media so citizens can be informed about global events.

BREAKING: The House just passed my bipartisan legislation to help make it easier for moms to get through airport security and travel with the breastmilk they need for their newborns.

Now it heads to the President's desk to be signed into law.

I can not stress enough how wrong it is to politicize flight safety.

Last summer at OshKosh FAA Admin Bedford said no one in the Biden admin cared about aviation; now we have this from Duffy.

This attitude turns safety into a concept to be owned for political gain. It’s dangerous & pathetic.
Sean Duffy: "You all saw with the DCA air crash -- the last administration didn't see the 85 near misses" (Trump was in office when that happened)

If Pete Hegseth believed in prioritizing merit in the military, he would have stepped down a long time ago.

I’m proud to stand in a long line of badass women who have served or are currently serving their country, even when people like Pete Hegseth refuse to give us equal opportunity to lead.
Exclusive: ‘She was the best man for the job’: Hegseth’s policies are forcing qualified women out of the military | CNN Politics
Active service women and men who spoke to CNN say that goals Hegseth laid out often don’t make sense and will damage the military.

Kaitlan Collins: "We've seen some reaction coming in already tonight from former Trump campaign advisers, saying that they believe this is a candidate quality issue and that Republicans need to run better candidates who are more in line with the president in order to secure victories."

LOL, sure. 🤣

Absolutely correct.
"If I were a commander today, I would not sign an NDA like the one reportedly being circulated in the Southern Command theater. Not out of defiance, but out of respect for the oath I took to support and defend the Constitution."
Why Commanders Don’t Sign NDAs
Existing rules and laws applying to military secrecy are sufficient—and asking officers to sign NDAs is deeply inappropriate.

This is not cool. This is a critical, precedent setting, use of our military. The way this is being done is as un-American as it gets.
Democrats are furious that the Trump Administration held a briefing on Capitol Hill today about U.S. military strikes on suspected drug boats. Only Republicans were invited. This is from Sen. Mark Warner D-VA.

That pesky Constitution is sooooo inconvenient.
“It’s too bad.” President Trump seemed to concede on Wednesday that he was not eligible to serve a third term, lamenting that it was an unfortunate result of the constitutional prohibition that he has mused about violating for months.
