So proud of Angelenos for using nonviolence to stand up for civil rights. A little over a month ago I was at the King Center, where the six principles of nonviolence are printed on stone. thekingcenter.org/about-tkc/th...
At least 10 Coho Salmon came up San Geronimo Creek yesterday morning, including one reddish one we saw in our backyard. Easy to forget after a year without seeing them how gigantic these ocean-fed fish are.

Autumn In California by Kenneth Rexroth, 1940

Autumn in CA is a mild
And anonymous season, hills & valleys
Are colorless then, only the sooty green
Eucalyptus, the conifers and oaks sink deep
Into the haze; the fields are plowed, bare, waiting;
The steep pastures are tracked deep by the cattle;

San Geronimo Valley's median and average temperatures in October were lowest for daily highs and second-highest for daily lows. This moderated range means clouds and rain--at 3.02" it was our fourth-wettest October since I began keeping records in 2012.

MAGA policies are increasingly unpopular among all Americans outside of a small fascist fringe, so we expect a huge electoral swing away from Trump in the 2026 midterms. A couple of gerrymandered seats in CA or Texas isn't going to change that. www.sfgreenparty.org/endorsements...

In his speech to the generals, I was actually impressed that someone must have educated him so that he was taking nukes seriously and wasn't talking about nuking hurricanes anymore. Now we seem to be nuking our own country to keep up with the joneses--just as ridiculous as nuking a hurricane.

I’ve updated the boycott guide: Spotify stays on the list.
Apparently they’re fine with the kidnapping and torture of innocent people—with toddlers zip-tied and families torn apart by fat-assed Gestapo cosplayers.
Spotify’s been running ICE recruitment ads.

It really doesn't get any more American than millions of Americas protesting against a tyrannical wannabe king.
Warren: The only movement these Republicans can manage is bowing down to Trump. When you ask them about today, they claim the No Kings Rally is anti-American. They’re wrong. Hundreds of thousands of people protesting peacefully for what they believe in—that is deeply American. That is patriotism.

SB 72 makes the state start planning for 9 million acre feet of new water supply. Goodbye everything Californians care about that makes our state special.
Gov signed this into law. This is the most unhinged disconnected-from-reality thing. Unless you want to flood the Mojave Desert (a horrible idea) there is no use for this much water. It will be expensive, both ecologically and environmentally. We must get this overturned, or we have doomed CA nature
