Our United Airlines pilot made sure to emphasize *Mexico* when he said we'd be flying over the Gulf of *Mexico* today.

It's the little things. Microdose hope.

As Trump tries to dismantle the Department of Education, remember that his plan to cut the corporate tax rate to 15% would give the 100 largest corporations a tax cut larger than the entire department's K-12 budget.

Really think about how twisted this all is.

Fundamentally, every single one of these picks has agreed — often explicitly — to serve the whims of Donald Trump (or Elon Musk?!) and not their empty oath to the Constitution. Giving them the consent of the Senate is basically Senators dismantling their own power and co-signing dictatorship.

Everyone is less fucked when they understand *why* this is happening. You can’t solve a crisis without knowing the roots. That’s why oligarchs are trying to erase history. On that note — get this one while you can.
Just finished this one and I am SHOOK and we are fucked. A must read.

🚨This is a fascist coup happening right now in America. I watch in horror at its rapid progress - as is much of the rest of the world. FBI, DoJ, IGs purged & Musk just took your Treasury Department. Don't be distracted by any other news, focus & act on this with every power left available to you.🚨

I downloaded old iTunes. I'm struck by how much more customizable it is than Apple Music and the rest of it.

My iPod is also 17-year-old. 120GB. Works perfectly. Even got a Bluetooth adapter. No ads, no subscriptions, no tracking. Just a durable, functional device. Enshittification is real.

By pardoning the most violent January 6th attackers, Trump is telling them to commit more violence in his name, and if and when they do — he will protect them.

We are all in terrible danger.

not claiming that the 2024 election was rigged, & T***p was helped to victory by illegal means, but rather that, in such contrast to the 2020 election which was audited, investigated for years, Democratic leaders seemed to shrug off the loss, raised no questions at all. if it meant so little, why
not that there is much point in caring about this, after the fact. but that so few Democrats cared after so much effort for Kamala Harris, citizens donating money, good will, time--all for what? why should anyone go through this again? if Democrats won't fight, why should anyone fight for them?

we were expected to care so much? donate time, money, enthusiasm, passion? post-election many questions have come to light about the T***p victory, but no one in authority seems to care. in retrospect, why did they bother? & spent so much money? on--what?

like many people whom I know, I contributed to the Kamala Harris campaign, participated in at least one event, & felt guilty that I hadn't done more, like intrepid friends who went door to door in Philly. but now, I am halfway resenting that I was drawn into a kind of charade of public posturing

It's as if T***p is further mocking America, by so strongly hinting that he'd stolen the election, or that EM had rigged it for him. the con man wants to be acknowledged as a master con, as probably criminals boast to one another who got away with the most.

If last week's Intermission and this week's Elvis and the Edge of Reality was a single, it would be a double sided hit, like We Are The Champions b/w We Will Rock You back in '77, the year Elvis died. Sarah's on a hot streak, though Elvis having recorded Edge isn't quite as strange as she suggests.

My mother paid for long term care insurance for years, and when she got dementia forgot to make her payments. Why do we allow insurance to be a gotcha game, instead of an investment that can retain its value? She might have got less coverage for the lapse, but none, after all the money?

Let's be clear. Trump was always going to go nuts with pardons. The pundits, journalists, and Democrats saying that the Hunter Biden pardon now gives him an excuse really mean that it will give THEM an excuse to blame Democrats for Trump's absolutely outrageous acts that he has planned all along.

That is why the AI crowd is so intent on attempting to get into the halls of power around Trump and his fascist movement, because they know their gamble will fail unless they get the government to build ai into its beauracracy and entrench it in our day to day lives without our consent.
About half of Americans say the increased use of artificial intelligence in daily life makes them feel more concerned than excited – up 14 percentage points from 2022. Overall, 52% of Americans said they feel this way in 2023, an increase from 38% in December 2022.
