In normal times, it would be a major scandal for the President to direct his AG to criminally investigate his political opponents to deflect from his own involvement in a major scandal — and for the AG to immediately announce she is doing it. The Epstein scandal and cover up just got even bigger.

Robert De Niro's Zero Day is a well acted catchy series with a major political plot that is a
subtle metaphor for the ills&evils happening in America under Trump.

One horrific thing to me is that the president- a man who has gotten away with everything including literal murder up to this point- seems extremely nervous about anything regarding Epstein coming out. Like how bad does it have to be

Something absolutely perfect about Larry Summers riffing about the scourge of woke cancel culture being unfair to predatory men in a friendly email to his pal JEFFREY EPSTEIN.

Nothing says I got dragged by @joycecaroloates.bsky.social like posting about a book I neither read nor understand thereby proving the point she made. Well done, sir.

Have you read Hawthorne's American Notebooks? If not you're in for a treat. ( @joycecaroloates.bsky.social turned me onto them, and I am grateful.)
Reading about the time Nathaniel Hawthorne lived in Ralph Waldo Emerson’s family’s country home in Concord, MA. Henry Thoreau came over and planted a garden of cabbage and beans for them. It’s where Hawthorne wrote Rappacini’s Daughter.

This is an A24 script waiting to happen.

The Epstein story gets a something that is tearing at the heart of the electorate: elite impunity. The idea that wealthy and powerful people can do terrible things *at scale* and face no consequences for them. Whatever political party actually stops it could rule the country for a generation.

Yes, one of these 10,000 flights was mine; not sure if I will ever get home.
Total strangers talking together frightened of what T***p will do next to disrupt the lives of US citizens. We seem to have no protection against him. He doesn’t even care if he hurts people who’d voted for him now.
