What’s with the super crappy AI slop ads on the @nytimes.com? You would think they have standards.

Research from CETI (Cetacean Transition Institute) uses LLMs to suggest sperm whale communication is more complex than human language, vowels and all!

An article from a site called "Clean Tech Times" about Charlie Kirk and Big Oil money is trending in r/energy on Reddit

It's a completely plagiarized, unauthorized, unlinked version of an article I published the day before

I have no idea what to do about it except complain. It's so fucked up.

This might be the purest expression of America fascism I’ve seen. Want to pave over police violence and gentrification? Just say you’re doing a real estate!

Wednesday, August 6, marks 80 years since the bombing of #Hiroshima.

I've been updating this visualization for ten years now, and it still hits me hard. We have so far to go before we achieve a world without nuclear weapons.

This is a sweeping article but aligns with my core motivator for digital: move from consultant based broadcast advertising to local social media conversations.

We need a global climate jubilee.
"A record 61 developing economies spent at least 10% of their government revenues on interest payments, leaving less for critical areas like health, education and climate action."
Global public debt rose to $102 trillion in 2024.

Developing countries accounted for nearly 1/3 of that amount – $31 trillion – and paid a record $921 billion in interests.

Public debt in developing countries has grown twice as fast as in richer nations since 2010.
