Road to Empress is simply a delight so far. It’s basically Dragons Lair but with a fully filmed story with live actors just like a historical cdrama. Super fun that’s it’s based on Empress Wu Zetian. Very clever in that it uses typical plot tropes but the right choices aren’t the typical ones!

Hey, #ttrpg folks. Due to Bas losing his job, I’ve got all my games on sale for the remainder of the year at least, so if you’ve been eyeing any of my works now’s the best time. I’m grateful for any and all support.

Heavenly Bodies is a 2p card game inspired by Gin Rummy and Koi-Koi.

Each turn is simple: draw cards and discard cards—but you have to be careful. Do you take this card now? Will it still be there next turn?

Players *must* balance their choices against reading their opponent’s goals.

basically every 2024 truism is dead. Trump did not build a lasting multiracial coalition or turn young men into committed Republicans. You don’t need to cave on trans rights to win. The pundits have nothing left to tell you.

I need more people to understand the movement that could be brewing here in Georgia if this young man only lost by 87 votes in COBB COUNTY.
87 votes was the margin of victory in Marietta, GA.

Don't forget that Zohran Mamdani spent his entire campaign standing proudly beside the trans community. He went to trans rights rallies just to show support. He proudly waved trans rights flags without hesitation. He refused to back down in support of trans rights. That makes me happy.

We went to pumpkins aglow at the conservatory again this year! Such a fun family Halloween thing to do. Iris was a unicorn, I was a moth (I made it several years ago!), and Jer was the Totoro I made two years ago!

Frankenstein was everything I needed it to be and more. So heartbreakingly stunning and beautifully violent. The set design, effects, costuming, everything was so perfectly executed. This and Crimson Peak will have a huge place in my heart forever. @realgdt.bsky.social does it again.

Nosferatu (2024) was fun I liked it! As usual I think the jargon and the set pieces were the most impressive parts. The ending was cool and new. Little too gross and too many dead children for me though which seems par for the course in movies the past few years

The only truly ethical response that a self-described artist can make. Anything else is a betrayal of one's colleagues.
“I am not interested, nor will I ever be interested. I'm 61, and I hope to be able to remain uninterested in using it at all until I croak. ... The other day, somebody wrote me an email, said, ‘What is your stance on AI?’ And my answer was very short. I said, ‘I'd rather die.’” 🫡
Filmmaker Guillermo del Toro says 'I'd rather die' than use generative AI
Del Toro's new Frankenstein adaption reimagines Mary Shelley's 1818 Gothic novel. Frankenstein was like a tech bro: "creating something without considering the consequences," he explains.
