Not to mention pursuing local government reorganisation to achieve mythical cost savings while reducing local accountability and eating up thousands of hours and God knows how much money that should have been directed on areas that actually need it.
What a shocking waste of opportunity this government has proved to be.
It has squandered its time and attention on ridiculous fiscal rules, persecuting refugees and trashing ecosystems in the name of growth, while failing to deliver what we so desperately want.

The basic problem with the temporary refugee status policy - especially one lasting up to 20 years - is it leads to very few removals (based on Denmark's experience) but does significantly worsen integration.

But I thought "illegals" were all young men of "fighting age"??
BBC News: "the government believe refugees are deliberately bringing their children to avoid deportation"

As opposed to doing what with their children??

Powerful stuff from @zackpolanski.bsky.social and he's 100% right to be so angry.
A Government of cowards.

Rather than tackle inequality - they've gone for pensioners, disabled people and now it's people fleeing war and persecution.

They can't get away with this.

Cruel. Callous. Cowardly.

The public are seeing this Labour government for exactly who they are.

We all have a responsibility to make them pay at the ballot box.

Reject the hate. Reject them.

This is not who we are. Let's make hope normal again.

Farage earns more than any other MP for NOT being an MP. He says it’s “obviously sad” that part of his constituency is the most deprived area in England.
But everything he’s ever done, said and wanted has made sure of it.
This is the whole country if he gets into power.

So Wes Streeting allies want him to become Prime Minister - for the Labour Government to tank even faster.

We don't have time to play these silly games - people are suffering now.

Keep growing the alternative - they need replacing.

But yes, that would be welcome.

I think the road in my village is trying to tell me something! Too many drivers not sticking to the 20mph limit past the pre-school?

Another bike ride to enjoy the autumn colours today. So good to get out into the countryside and away from the desk for a couple of hours!

This article details the speeches Nathan Gill gave that he was paid to give.

These are the nightmarish scenes we'd see if Farage & Reform ever got into power in the UK.

Would they be able to recruit for the same kind of Gestapo as Trump has created in ICE?

Probably. There are racist thugs & would-be bully boys here too, as recent events have shown.
This is a clear example of racial discrimination.
It’s hard to understand how Americans can tolerate such behavior.
Masked men are approaching women with brown skin on the streets, asking if they were born here and where they come from.
It’s truly heartbreaking to witness things like this.
