Another new policy from the geniuses in NIH leadership.

Apparently, ~70% of grant applications for most mechanisms will not be "triaged", i.e. not discussed at study section.

This is an increase from the ~50% level that has been in place for many years.

I don't know the rationale for this

This is your periodic reminder that classification criteria aren’t diagnostic criteria. They don’t capture the breadth and depth of a disease, but rather a well phenotyped population for research.

The committee will vote on whether to delay the hepatitis B vaccine for babies and whether to give the MMR (measles/mumps/rubella) and chickenpox vaccines separately.
