Two observations. First, the money we spent in post WW II reconstruction of Europe and the Pacific rim was not wasted and may now save our collective asses while we deal with this global isolation. Second, they haven't done away with DEI, they have just added OPUS in front of it.

For 72 years I have changed 'sex' on forms to 'gender' because I believe 'sex' is a "yes or no" question (consent / non-consent), not a "M or F" question. In my personal vocabulary, 'sex' is an activity, 'gender' a description. In my head, it will never not be so.
