Kindness doesn’t need an audience.
It’s still magic, even when no one sees it.

One Christmas my Auntie Alice decided to cook a Christmas Pud in her microwave. She set the timer and retired to the lounge to watch a war film on the TV. Explosions galore in the film. Went into the kitchen to find it full of smoke. She could see the pud through a 6” bullet hole in the side of MW.

UK energy bills highest in Europe.

Fuelling poverty, business costs and bankruptcies.

Ofgem pricing formula guarantees profits to all producers. Formula linked to gas price, the most expensive input. So, industry made£483bn profit since 2020.

Need price controls, public ownership.
UK energy bills highest in Europe and public patience is wearing thin
Labour promised it would save households £300 by 2030 but bills are still higher than before the war in Ukraine began.

The emphasis is on how we can help people pay these obscene prices and never on curbing the profits of the despicable businesses.
This applies to all privatised utilities.
Clearly this government and the previous one are happy with this situation and they have no intention to limit profits.
Appalling. Utterly.
UK domestic energy prices will rise by inflation-busting 6.4% in April to £1,849 a year on average.

Fuel poverty will increase. People will cut spending elsewhere, derail economic recovery.

UK energy industry made £483bn profit since 2020.

British Gas is Britain’s worst energy supplier for customer service.

Customer exploitation is normalized.

Regulators/Govt serve corporations, don't protect people.

50% of the Ofgem board must be elected by customers. Let customers vote on exec pay.

England's water industry owned by companies with over 1,100 criminal convictions since 1989.

Examples:
United Utilities 205
Thames Water 187
South West Water 174
Anglian Water 128
Yorkshire Water 125
Southern Water 119

People forced to hand more money to criminals?
Now they are not even fined.
The water industry shows how the state indulges corporations to the detriment of society
Since 1989, water companies have been the subject of over 1,100 criminal convictions, but governments are content for them to control the industry.
