I love tote bags and have an *obscene* number of them, but the downside is every time I go out with my husband or son it’s “do you mind carrying this” and “hey will this fit in your bag” and then before you know it I’m carrying 16 pounds of other people’s shit

Everything sucks so here is my dog eating ramen. 🍜

If you came to any of my book events you might recognize this design on my bookmarks (L). It recreates a meme I saw on Twitter (R). My niece Michele painted my cat Amber in the shape of Taiwan, and her sister Jenny designed the bookmark to my specifications. I love it so much 😻 #6, #30daysofwhimsy

It shouldn’t be forgotten that a big piece of Mamdani’s campaign was simply “cities are cool and lots of people enjoy living in them” which in and of itself dismantles alot of rightwing talking points

Pardon me for freaking out over Mayor Mamdani. I’ve forgotten what it’s like to have a politician who’s kind, honest and literate

New: Conde Nast fired four employees who were among a group that confronted the company's head of human resources on Wednesday over the decision to fold Teen Vogue into Vogue/recent cuts. Employees who were fired included journalists from the New Yorker, Wired, and Bon Appétit.

We don’t often find whimsy at work so it’s extra delightful when we do. I use Asana for project management and one of the things I love about it is “celebrations” — every time you mark a task done, a little unicorn or other magical animal goes flying across your screen 😄🦄 Day 5, #30daysofwhimsy

"'They’re spending more money than I would even tax them,' [Mamdani] said in an interview with MSNBC last week."

This is the message. Make it clear that these billionaires aren't just worried about losing money. They're worried about losing the ability to exchange their money for power.

For those who don’t know, Lina Khan gave tech bros hell AND her ass to kiss when she was FTC chair. She was busting monopolies left and right. Gave Amazon and Meta the finger too.

This is an EXCELLENT addition to his team.

Zohran Mamdani’s Campaign and the Radical Idea that Muslims are Human - The Rumpus
It is against this background of a country that has reduced Muslims into a dark, foreign, terrorist “other,” that Mamdani ran a campaign that centers the affordability of the city for all who live wit...

I hope the centrists learned a hard lesson last night. No more reaching across the aisle to people who have been spitting in our faces for decades. Run young people, run socialists, run on actionable ideas that seek to make our lives better.

Many are comparing Mamdani to Obama, but you know who else pounded the pavement as a youthful Millennial candidate with a short resume, fantastic ground game, social media savvy, and no problematic donors? AOC!! Not a criticism, just an observation that Mamdani is not a fluke—there’s a playbook!!!
AOC: I have to tell you, in my traveling across the country, I am hearing and have been seeing consistent things from everyday people. And it is that they are terrified, they are frustrated, they are angry, and they are shocked by a president violating the values that we hold dear

It’s refreshing to see a candidate win w/ authenticity, humility & ideas he actually believes in. Mamdani’s strategy of connecting w/ diverse communities was flawless. Number crunching & focus groups aren’t cutting it anymore. Stop listening to donors & consultants and start listening to the people!
The thing is, it’s actually blindingly obvious that Zohran Mamdani’s campaign speaks to what Americans all over the country are looking for and even what people around the world are looking for
