Det ukrainske parlamentet har i dag vedtatt en ny lov som gjenoppretter uavhengigheten til antikorrupsjonsorganene NABU og SAPO – etter massiv folkelig protest og internasjonal kritikk. 🧵1/8

Following street protests, Zelensky signs law restoring independence of anti-graft bodies
The bill aims to reverse legislation passed last week that effectively destroyed the independence of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor (SAPO).

A brutal portrait of russian terror — and the free world's failure to uphold its own principles.

Six murdered including a 6yo child. More than 50 injured. Many still trapped under the rubble. It's Kyiv, the capital of the European state.

Geopolitics of identity: why Russia cannot help but invade
Since 2014, the start of the Russo-Ukrainian war, one phrase still haunts me: “Они распяли мальчика в трусиках”—they [Ukrainians] crucified a little boy wearing nothing but his underwear.

I’ve really had enough of these takes that it’s been unfair that Europe has outsourced its defence to the US.

First of all, the US needed both the bases in Europe and European political and military backing for its global war on terror and the wars in the Middle East. It was never pure charity.

In the discussion of how 'America First' might affect US-Norwegian defence cooperation along NATO's northern flank moving forward, a credible threat assessment is an absolute minimum. Instead, overly simplified evaluations of the nature and character of the Russian threat dominate discourse 🧵

More on the European side of things when we know more about the results from Paris
The Trump administration should be careful what they wish for
If Europe were to implement everything the US demanded of it last week, it would end up empowering Europe at the cost of US power
