Another quote in a book that seems prescient for today: "It was a time when ignorance was much more comfortable [...] and was received with all the honours in a very good society, without being obliged to dress itself in an elaborate costume of knowledge [...]" Eliot, The Mill on the Floss p. 113.

My libido has gone from zero to "fuckity fuck fucking fuck" in a very short space of time and I kind of don't know what to do with myself.

My mood is all over the shop and I need to catch up on uni, too, but for that I need good sleep and that has been hard to find.

even if LLMs didn't take jobs and steal from people's work I still wouldn't be comfortable in companies using them unless they found a way for them not to eat massive amounts of resources at the expense of mainly marginalised people and just the planet as a whole, the results are not worth it.

Was having a panic thinking I'd lost my favourite shirt (or one of, at least) but I found it, phew.

As this gets a little bit of love from RAVENOUS fans, here’s an interview I did with cinematographer Anthony B. Richmond for the film’s 25th anniversary.

I keep having dreams in which John Waters appears and follows me around calling me a nasty pervert and I am struck with questions of what it could mean.

Was reading earlier about the Radium Girls because I came across some gnarly descriptions of osteonecrosis and went down a rabbit hole of "no fucking way" and, God, radiation is one of those pure, sheer terror things with what it does. Also workers rights.

Not done yet but getting there! Obviously shaping needs more... shape. Was refining shadows today, though. Added another arrow. Can't remember how many was in the story but the real number is: however many I want to pierce him with

I've always enjoyed writing and drawing as well as engaging with art be it films, books, paintings, albums, etc. Everything of art from the beginning sketch to the end result is just something I enjoy doing and I love seeing how my pixel art has progressed over time and yet is still "mine".
With all this awful news going on i wanna ask this question once again to fellow artists and general creatives. What got YOU into art? what sparked that motivation to start writing? what made you wanna pick up a camera and start taking pics? Like share with us your reasons.

I don't know why but the idea of a Christmas market in FFXIV has had me beaming.

I've been building my character slowly up and I'm happy with her now.

An IRL friend I hadn't heard from in almost a decade got back in touch with me last year and it turned out she'd transitioned and gotten married and gotten free of an unpleasant family situation and she texted me today and I had a little cry about the fact she's alive and happy.

Watched the new Knives Out and I enjoyed it. Got strangely teary at the end when Tom Waits played over the credits and then I Googled him to see what was up and found a photo where he looks his age and I don't know if I'll ever be ready for that.

The games industry brings in 300 billion dollars a year. The guy who made DOOM gets his projects canceled, the guy who made Katamari Damacy is broke, everyone in your feed is begging for a job and there are 50 new games coming out on Steam every day all going towards buying Gabe Newell's next yacht
Keita Takahashi (Katamari, Wattam, Noby Noby Boy) has moved back to Japan, and says he may be forced to quit the games industry due to To a T underperforming.

He also says he'd love to work on Katamari again, and for someone to invest in his studio.
