The Sun has been told Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood will on Monday propose confiscating jewellery, watches, necklaces from asylum seekers to meet asylum costs

This reflects the most controversial aspect of the Danish scheme - the Jewellery Law. The toughest Labour MPs thought this was OTT

How is it logically possible to defame a man whose reputation is as a lying, corrupt cheat?

BBC has a case against Trump. WhiteHouse Chief Press Officer called the BBC ‘100% fake news.’ Which is defamatory and untrue.

Remember the Gisele Pelicot trial? There was one man who wouldn’t accept being found guilty of rape.

He insisted the label was too much of a burden to bear. He raped an unconscious woman, multiple times, on video.

He appealed, and the court extended his sentence.

Trump reminds me of that guy.

France does not celebrate 11th November. It commemorates it.

Almost 20% of French men of military age died in WW 1.
President Trump criticises France and others for celebrating remembrance day, saying, "We're the one that won the wars"

Surreal, and so very disrespectful to every person who fought in the wars for the freedoms we all enjoy today

Incredible that Trump instigated an attempted coup and, not only escapes punishment, but becomes president again (and pardons ppl convicted and merely accused) and yet people lose their jobs for reporting the facts slightly out of order.

Maybe Keir should demand the heads of major US news networks any time they imply Britain is on the brink of civil war or that we live under sharia law. Or does it not work both ways?

We need, do we not, to make a clear distinction between (a) BBC News and Current Affairs; and (b) other BBC output? And not damage the latter because of the former?
I agree with the author, the BBC is not perfect but it’s far better than having no broad based public service broadcaster. To educate & entertain and give a general view of the world. The recent Right Wing bias is no reason to destroy the whole incredible organisation. Cherish it & criticise it.
